May 15, 2011 · John Deere won't shut off!!! Hello everyone, I'm new here and did some searching but came up dry. Ok heres my issue. I have a John Deere 111 11hp B&S 5sp. Ive had a no start issue for some time now. I bought a new coil, and still no spark. I checked all the wiring connections for corrosion/loose, cleaned them up added some die electric grease. I have plenty of gas and I bled the fuel system by loosening the bolt that my owners manual said to loosen and cranked over the engine to make sure there was no air in the system. You need to see if that is getting 12VDC to it and if it clicks, what the voltage is now on that large red wire once it clicks. It could easily be a neutral safety switch. Wayne.
